There were 4 river crossings on that day, it was a long walk, we started early. The Sun had already taken a lead, but we had to beat it, reach our destination before it sets.So we quickened our pace, it was late afternoon when I reached the place of the last river crossing, the current was a bit strong here. Was a bit apprehensive, so waited for someone to come along.
After a while the guide from the Newzealand group came along and he effortlessly crossed the river, he has obviously done this many times. I followed his footsteps and reached the other side. Was quite tired by this time, and the setting was as spectacular as has ever been. There were these cloud patterns straight out of a painting, clouds have always fascinated me. On a clear blue sky it is as if its a half finished painting, you need a bit of imagination to complete it.You can play around with it for hours.
I sat down there just soaking it all in, the water had a bluish tint which contrasted with the barren mountains, the river raced along cheerfully, dancing over the rocks. Whats the rush I asked you dont even know you will reach the sea or not, you are right now in a barren valley, there is a long way to go. There are many a hurdles. I began to think now what could those hurdles be.
Well for starters you have me, I have taken along some innocent water drops with me, and now offerrring them as sacrifice to the Sun God, drying myself. Then you have people , who will build dams, irrigate. They even will fight wars for you. Do you know they even have international aggrements on how they will share your water. You may think its you, but you have already been claimed by us humans, so why you are so happy ? dancing and singing along before me ?
Today as I remember that moment, I realize that he probably was trying to say something to me, You will never know what will happen in future, who knows , so dont you loose your present concerning yourself of your future. Keep doing what you are supposed to do, enjoy doing it, be true to it. If you are on the right path, results will automatically follow. So dont bother about it.
This kind of sound familar to th opening lines on Bhagwad Gita, where Krishna kinds of gives the same advice to a despondent Arjuna.
Its not easy, it wasnt easy for Arjuna and I am a mere dust in the wind or something even less, a dust particle which is yet to be caught up in the wind, for it is now caught under a big , sinister , ugly looking bounder!
