Le Corbeu

"A small town here, or elsewhere"

If a story line starts like that, what can you say. There is no Bergmansque deep thoughts just first grade story telling. And teh plot , nothing spectacular , kinds of reinforce teh feeling that you dont need a spectacular story for a great movie. THe same plot could have been wasted in any other movie.

One scen which stands out is teh light bulb , struggle between good and evil, the conflict and then with time , it dies down the light bulb becomes stationary. The way that was conveyed was spectacular , if someone would ahve wanted to convey it in words- dialogues, it wouldnt have touched, the way the symbolic representation did.

I guess this was my first movie from Henri-Georges Clouzot and I am loking forward to Diabolique now , his other movie, not the newer Sharon Stone one. "Its not a loss that you have missed something , its a big big loss if you havent realized it yet" Saurabh said that, when I told him, I realized how much of quality cinema I have missed so far, after watching 400 Blows. I guess thats one of the reason I push people toward these movies, cause , if we hadnt casually discussed about movies once after lunch, I would be in dark till now, I had a natural interest, but I needed a push to explore and now its a incurable. I try to sell these to lot many people but they dont buy it, different people, everyone need not like these, not everything needs to be Blue !
