I might get to travel to US for two weeks, work ofcourse, But I am not too excited as I thought I would be about it. There is the flying ove bay Of Bengal, Singapore, then South East Asia, Hong Kong the Pacific and thn San Fransisco, lot of geography there and that is a bit exciting. As I love travelling and while doing so, sit back and try to look at the bigger picture, I know I will get excited when I will realize that I am actually over all thse places...
Ohh thats where teh cyclone that batters Orissa's eastern coast forms, Over these waters US Navy would have flown numerous sorties during the Vietnam war, and a japanese fleet would ahve flown over these waters on their way to Pearl Harbour. Travelling half way across teh world, over teh date line are things that i will remember forever, See the earth is actually round, I actually saw teh curvature while flying to US of A !, that would be the opening lines of a story, or so I imagine, if I get to teach geography to my grandsons! taht will pique his interest and my travelogue :) How mean !
Strange how things change, IN April 2008 when I went for teh H1 Visa Intvw to Kolkatta, I was praying to get teh visa , so I have an option to go to US and probably work there, but then when I got the Visa I wasnt really interested, and now I may actually cancel my H1B visa to get a B1 visa from my current company so that I can visit US for 2 weeks. Thngs change, priorities change, and frankly apart from the initial euphoria I dont really have anything to look forward to in US ahh there may be quite a bit of photography, but they would be mostly landscapes just point focus infinity and shoot!, nothing deep there
I have these big shopping lsit though, some books, some cycling gear, electronics and yes if I have enough money a telescope !. I need it to kickstart my stargazing activities.Well all these if I do get a visa, I dont know how the US consulate will lok at a guy who already has a H1b and cancelling it to apply for a B1 , and hey he never used teh H1B.....
