Another movie in Screen 5 Prasads. Tell you honestly after listening to reviews from 'people' I was going with lowered expectations. But Once I realised that this is on screen 5 my expectations soared. THis sreen in Prasads will always put off beat movies and till now it hasnt disappointed.

Dev D will be one of those movies that you can keep, you want to hold a copy of it and may be watch it later. Off late bollywood movies have begun to experiment with portrayal of human character. ANd this one does it to perfection a character with its many flaws, gets totally messed up, reaches a point of no return. There were times when you feel that the director has gone overboard but thats okey, you can adjust with that and also sometimes the movie seemed to drag. Another avoidable thig could be the connection that it tries to establish with various news stories, I dont think that was required to drive home the point, the story and teh performances were good enough to do that. But these aside a thoroughly enjoyable movie, remained true to the story throughout.

Abhay deol in my opinion could be the next big star in Bollywood, maybe not like the Sharukh Khan types but acting wise he will be right up there. I really admire his choice of movies after Lucky Oye Oye Lucky this was another one, It was a difficult character to portray , but a very real one and he did it admiringly well.

Dont remember the director or the script writer of this movie, hats off to them aswell. Good to see a good clean, confident bollywood, that doesnt rely on formulas or song and dance , or those stupid parampara .. family all in one crap.
