Inadequacy of our education system

Those were my first thoughts after reading Kierkegaard, I had stumbled on him while reading about Existenitalism philosophy and somehow Either/Or as a title appealed to me. Striggled to find his books here , so picked his works while in US. I love books, If I want to read something, I want to hold them n my hands, I somehow connect that way, these days I read a lot of stuff on the net but still holding a book kinds of makes me feel as if I posses the ideas in it.

Anyways coming back, I feel our education is quite quantitative and rigid, it has its place in the initial phases of our life, but as we grow we should have more options... I wish if on top of this system we could have another education systems which is more qualitative in nature, where I at this stage in my life want to take up philosophy, I dont want to sit and write any papers, I dont want to prove it to any one, just for my satisfaction and interest. I want a system that doesn't judge me quantitatively but where I can discuss, debate, I would love to go to a class, a online community doesnt have the intensity, it is never personal.

I am sure there is some economic value in it for every one, society in general will benefit. Part of the boredom which people feel with their monotonous life, is that they have stopped living, always in a rat race . Its a matter of opening up other avenues, to be made aware of them .. and what better thing in life then an interest a renewed enthusiasm... a purpose. There are so many closed doors in our lives and so many possibilities to be aware of .. so many interesting thoughts that can enrich us. I believe that an education structure, will somehow be helpful in providing the resources and more accessible to people in general. Internet will help in search but it shouldn't be the only medium, this process can be so much more enriching than what internet can do for us ...
