How things 'dont' work

Nat Geo were showcasing How things work.

Two guys were trying to analyze bras, well I didnt switch the channels , initially it was a bit boring , they didnt have any supermodels ;) illustrating their use !

But then it really became interesting . It seems that 90% of girls wear bras that are ill fitting. And believe it or not UK govt contracted a mechanical engineer to design a proper fitting bra, to analyse its requirements and come up with an optimal design. THsi fellow has done load balancing studies for the US space shuttle program and he was a guy. So far so good.

This fellow got a model and analysed the pressure distributions when girls move, do physical exercise , breathe and actually came up with a design which is supposed to support the breasts optimally. But it didnt look sexy at all. He hoped this will be a path breaking design, I doubt it very much. Underwear are also a lot about 'aesthetic' appeal than just utility.

On other side of the atlantic, designs were going overboard over aesthetic appeal , they had designed bras which had LED designs powered by a 9V battery ! One even had a button which would change the light patterns to one of the available 8 !

Anyways its always better to know something about the opposite sex :)
