O baby baby its a wild world!

Stability, Predictability, In control, volatility these words are being thrown around a bit. World economy is in the midist of a recession and no one predicted it. Well there was krugman who predicted and got a Nobel, okey so no one understood it/ready to accept it. When things are going good we tend to block all negative thoughts , what can possibly go wrong , it is instinctive. It is difficult to be sad on a bright sunny winter morning , with a cup of cofee and some good music , feel the rustle of the crisp morning paper, what can possible go wrong ?

But things do go wrong and when they do , if it is really bad we tend to swing to the other side, atleast I do and looking at the way economists are forecasting this recession to be a long lasting one , I guess I am not singular. What is really puzzling is the vulnerability of our thought process, the swing is quite dramatic. Just a few months back oil was at 130 $ plus and now people are predicting it will go below $25. The same analysts who justified oil at $130 are now justifying it at $25.

If you look at their justifications in isolation, it would not sound incredulous, it would make sense. Only when you look at the bigger picture you see the disparity, aware of the swing, and cant help but wonder at it. Similarly in my day to day life all my actions make sense in its context, all my emotions arose cause there was an underlying basis , or my senses fooled me in that direction, but nevertheless there was a 'justification'. But when one looks at it in retrospection its puzzling, how could I do that ? what was I thinking ?

And then in the middle of all this you sing along

Its a wild world you tube

Cause its a FRIDAY!
