No Big deal

It occurred to me that I havent really blogged about my visit, especially so cause, once upon a time I had almost packed my bags for a couple of years there, was totally convinced about it. ANd now that I got a chance to be there, I am saying NO big deal. No guys its not yet another episode where I belittle things after they are done. Its not at all like that, though I am guilty of doing that many times.

You see my desire for US was not really based on money or the whatsoever publicity it might have brought, my parents are not the types who would go about bragging about it, they never thought its a big deal anyway and never encouraged me to be settle outside. My desire was more to see US , after all this keyboard that I am currently stomping over, the monitor the software that I use , the job that gives me bread and butter, and to a large extent the tv channels that I watch and the books I read , the movies I watch, the music I hear and to a smaller extent the philosophy I preach , teh net I browse are all a gift of US society. For me it was always supposed to be a like a pilgrimage. In the morning when I first saw the US landmass flying through the pacific ocean, all teh tiredness was gone. this is the place this si where it all started.

But somehow I slowly lost it, I began to think its not like its not possible back home, its just that we are lagging behind in this race , we started late and its gonna take some time. thats all, and once that sinked in, US felt like any other big city and that was it... I lost it.

Once while waiting for the train on my way to Redwood city , met an Indian guy, he had been there for the last 11 years , hasnt visited India even once after he migrated, and is now an US citizen. and all through the conversation he tried really hard to explain that it was a good decision to stick around . I didnt even know him, but it was as if he was trying to convince himself in trying to convince me, was quite extraordinary and that probably sealed it, no matter what, there is nothing like HOME.
