had watched this one in bits and pieces earlier, watch it again today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had a whole lot of heavy stuff, wanted a break, too much of philosophy, too much of tought. I needed a simple , light and a happy ending types.
sometimes just simple portrayal of human innocence can be very enjoyable, as if we are kind of surprised that it can exist, the scene where Irene teaches Jean how to seduce someone, 'think of the tricks you picked up when you were 15 ' of course she is gorgeous and she knows how to dress up and thats adds up to the whole experince. There was this scene where Jean shows off his new watch, and towards teh end in the party where Jean walks off with that girl (she was gorgeous too!) and all three of them Irene, that guy and the lady were left looking at them. Finally when Irene comes back Jean says ' You took a long time'
Probably at times it kind of dragged a bit, but then sometimes it will make you smile aswell. UTV World Movies, who ever thought that there could be an audience for these movies here in India , bless them.
When I was in US I kept asking myself what are teh things that I would be missing most, true they have good infrastructure, but I probably wont miss it that much, I can live with that. They have that professionalism, which is something you can strive for in India aswell.
The things that I thought I would probably miss most is the freedom, the freedom to define yourself, to pursue whatever you want to, Here we have very limited scope beyond the obvious, If I want to look for a book, which is a little off beat, its difficult if not impossible to get it, Yes I fianlly got Bergman's Magic Lantern, it was so easy there, you dont ahve to search much, you know you will get it. I got a lot of cycling stuff, which was very difficult for me to get here , or if I would ahve got it here it would have been at a very inflated price and then the GPS for trekking,
All this is probably cause our society is still struggling to make both ends meet, we are yet to become a bit adventurous , ready to appreciate offbeat stuff.Things are slowly changing though, the fact that we are able to watch movies like this in TV interspersed with many Indian ads is proof of that.
